| | Once you have clicked on "apply to edit", you will be shown a page of suggestions you should consider when applying. Read these and click the "Proceed" button. Fill in all the fields of the form that appears and click the "Apply" button. Because we believe each request is unique, there is no magic formula to writing a perfect request. It is important to be yourself, speak the truth, and avoid spelling errors. The way in which you complete the request shows us the way in which you will act as a future editor. When you are asked for sample content, provide an original paragraph of your writing that you would publish if you became an editor. Fill out all the required fields as incomplete applications will be rejected. Be honest in your application. Use normal orthography and spelling, suitable to the language in which you are applying. |
| The requests are evaluated by volunteer Meta and Root editors from the editing community, who may discuss your application before making a decision on whether to accept it. After the evaluation of your request, you will receive an email showing the results of the application and additional advice from the editor who reviewed the application. If you get rejected, you are allowed to make another request. It is our desire to welcome any help that it is been offered to us in reaching this goal, but we will not accept all applications that we receive. Your application is a sample of how you will react and edit as a potential new editor. The information you will give will be reviewed by senior Open-site editors, who will accept or reject your application at their discretion. Even if someone invited you to join, we can't guarantee that you'll be approved. Because we can't make a decision before we see a request, sending feedback to the reviewers asking about their opinions also is not productive. If you are interested in helping with this project, the best way is to go ahead and fill out an application to become an editor. Back to top. |
| We do not offer money as compensation for your editorial work. All the data that you will provide will be offered freely to the Internet community. It is our goal in building the most comprehensive resource on the internet, and our goal to share it with the rest of the people, that is driving us forward. We do not make any commercial profit from this activity, and we cannot provide money as a way of appreciation for your hard work. However, the idea of doing something positive for the community, and the fun that can be found while editing at Open Site can be a rewarding experience. Some editors found jobs due to their Open-site career, and others said that the experience gained due to this project regarding team-work and management is very valuable. Back to top. |
| If you have applied and had your application denied or if you want to find out if your application has been looked at, then post a message at the non-official public forum. We do not approve all applications and you are allowed to re-apply if your application is denied. The most common reasons for not accepting an application is because of the quality of the sample content provided. Look around at some of the other content to see the quality that is expected.
