Description

Toothbrushes are small Brush es for cleaning teeth.

Toothbrushes are used by placing them in the mouth with Water and/or toothpaste, and proceeding to brush the teeth and gums thoroughly. Most manual toothbrushes require frequent replacement.

History

In Many developed countries, toothbrushes are considered essential to maintaining good dental Health and hygiene. Traditionally, however, wood, baking soda, Chalk or cloth, rubbed against the teeth, was considered an effective way to clean teeth.

The first toothbrush was created in China in 1498 from hog bristles attached to a bone. Toothbrushes had gained popularity in developed countries by the 19th Century and nylon bristles were soon used instead of animal bristles.

In 1959 Squibb Pharmaceutical launched the Broxodent toothbrush, which was the very first electric toothbrush. Today electric toothbrushes are common in many countries. An electric toothbrush will rotate automatically when turned on. Such toothbrushes May last for some time but periodical replacement of the head is important.
