The game of Warcraft is a real-time strategy game much like the similar Blizzard game: Starcraft. Both single-player and online versions of this game are available.

The series originated with Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, an MS-DOS based application which mainstreamed the Real Time Strategy Genre. Soon after, the sequel: Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness was released with impoved graphics, and controls, as well as with more units and a new Story line. Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal an expansion pack, followed soon after.

Years later, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos one of the first fully 3D Real Time Strategy Games was released. Soon after followed, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne - an expansion pack for the original.
