Overview

Project management software is a term covering many types of software, including scheduling, resource allocation, financial planning, communication systems, which are used to deal with the complexity of small or large projects.

Software desktop applications

Microsoft Project (or MSP) is the application, which creates critical path schedules. Schedules can be resource leveled, and chains are visualized in a Gantt chart. Additionally, Project can recognize different classes of users. These classes of users can have differing access levels to projects, views, and other data.
